Not proper boot device. Still sounds like the asus program is installed. I have talked to all my pc buddies called tech support and no one can tell me anything i haven't tried or that has worked. solved Just put together my first build. Power definitely going to DVD, can see it spin.I have double checked the fit for all SATA and power cables.I have tried the SATA cables in ports 4/5 as well as It's probably better if you reformatted (fresh install so not much to reinstall) and avoided installing the asus stuff in the first place.
Hence my recommendation to check the board's cpu socket.

solved Just added new HDD to my laptop, having access issues. The computer is getting power, but nothing loads up. when talking to tech support for the motherboard they helped me check that it wasn't a grounding issue.
