Then lots of flashing lights on the control panel.Powered off & on as well as reset a few times and deleted and reinstalled the printer, same result. Weird thing is that it also has random paper jams - a problem I've never had with this unit.Any suggestions? No buttons will respond on the printer. The error message on the printer says "print cartridge in right stall not supported". Source

Recent upgrade to Windows 10 had problems with using printer as the drivers are old and the printer is no longer supported by HP for updates. I've tried every step outlined in the troubleshooting guides, and am at wit's end! The power went out and now when the printer loads, it freezes and the scanner starts making a loud banging sound which lasts about 2 minutes. Sometimes only a portion of the document gets scanned. Any info would be appreciated. The latch must remain down to install the cartridges correctly.Slide each cartridge into the correct slot until it clicks into place. I tried different cords and different outlets, and finally resolved the problem.You say it is pluged directly into the outlet, but do you have a lot of other stuff drawing power Windows or Mac? Have you tried power cycling the router, printer and computer? This can be found under the bid entry box. I can leave the printer on all day and there is no message.
