By following this document, now my Seagate external hard-drive is detected and now I am able to access. I guess there is a problem with the HUB? I have an portable USB hard drive which has recently stopped showing up under My Computer, Disk Management. I am using Windows Vista home premium. I dont want to format it as it contains extremely imp data. It's easy to bring your hard drive out of hiding.

If it is not initializing it could be a bad enclosure or other bad hardware. It powers on fine and doesnt make any wierd noises either.
