We need a completely new type of storage media that is archival and doesn't have moving parts. My installation uses two mirrored Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5″ (Perpendicular Recording Technology) drives. On the other hand, I currently have ten 2TB drives to back up all of my digital images from 2004 to present.
